Games Day Baltimore Questions Thread - Submit Questions for Mythic Here!
Greetings,
As you may have heard, Warhammer Alliance has been invited by Mythic to Games Day Baltimore to enjoy exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage of the event and of the upcoming Land of the Dead. The lion's share of our coverage will be our all-access pass to a closed door event wherein we will see video, presentations, and Q&A with Mythic regarding WAR and Tomb Kings. We've been told that we're going to be getting significant face time with the developers, and as such, we want you, the community to help ask the questions! While we have our own questions we're going to be asking, we'd love for you to help reap the benefits of our access. The folks we'll be sitting down with will span all areas of WAR, so most anything is on the table. Just follow the format below and who knows, we might use your question for our interviews! Category: General Question: Are there any plans to improve upon questing for healer classes in the game? The majority of the quests in the game focus on killing mob's X,Y,Z and while healers do have damaging type actions they do it less effectivly than DPS archtype careers and thus level slower than those class types. Username: Purinna Category: RVR Question: Are there any plans in the future to implement a relic type system for rvr similar to that of DAOC? For non-DAOC players this would be a "capture the flag type reward" for the entire zone when you capture the ooposing factions relic and take it back to your keep. Example is one server that has a low population being placed in the same scenario que as a high pop server, so "both" servers expereince fast scenario que's? Meaning will I ever be able to use my catapult to destroy a keep wall, for entry into the keep, instead of always being funnelled through the same keep doors?

In light of the server instability in the end game, where there is only one capital city as an objective. What do you think of the possibility of adding the other four capitals and limiting what gear you can get to your opposing battlefront enemy's capital? That would drop 1/3rd of each population into each battlefront, and at least spread it out a little.
When shall we be seeing our capitals released?

Category: RvR question: are there any plans to make player kills contribute to a zone lock? Username: bigf00t Category: RvR Are there any plans to implement any scenarios where the objective is to kill the most players? Right now they do not have an epic feel and to me they seem a bit unfair. ie: equal number of players when suddenly one side has a lord and heroes as backup. Category: RvR Are there any plans on making "zerg" mentality type play less attractive in terms of how the overall campaign works? Currently it seems like whichever side has the largest server population gets to "farm" the capital of the opposing side, so are there any plans on limiting the benefits of numbers and making campaign conquest determined by which side has the better players in the RvR lakes? Category: General At the moment it seems like whenever there is high activity in the RvR lakes of a given zone, the entire pairing suffers from severe lag. Are there any plans on moving high activity events like Fort sieges to their own zone instance, such that the lag cascading throughout an entire pairing is reduced? Category: Combat and Careers With the advent of the Choppa/Slayer it seems a lot like the "old" non-infiltrator MDPS careers are severely underperforming due to various issues (less useful abilities, less damage, wonky Ai and others) and seem like they could use some adjustments. Additionally, the Zealot and Runepriest healer career mechanics feel very boring (to me at least) compared to their colleagues, while at the same time suffering from lack of proper definition which set them apart from the other healers. So I was wondering what the current plans for adjusting certain lacklustre careers and making them overall more enjoyable to play are?

Category: General Since I play almost entirely solo PvE, is there any chance you might add additional levels (say, to 50 or 60) with new quests to get there? I'm 10% from lvl 40 and my toon will end up parked in Altdorf making potions for my guild. If not levels, anything else planned for solo PvE? |

Username: Earlydawn Category: Combat & Careers Question: A large part of the tank userbase feels that we're something of a PvE anachronism stuck in an RvR world. Does Combat & Careers have any plans to update the archetype as a whole, like added incentives to play a sword-and-board, more defensive utility, or reorganizing crowd control around the tank archetype? * Username: Earlydawn Category: RvR Question: There's an excellent set of videos on YouTube by testpig about reorganizing the way Tier Four's campaign works, and more importantly, adding realm-wide bonuses for the purposes of keep and BO control. Category: RvR Question: Are there currently ideas on how to improve a tanks importance on the Orvr field over the RvE part of the game? Currently quite a few tanks believe that we are quickly and easily ignored in the open field to attack our squishier allies. Would like input whether or not this was taken into consideration. I consider Orvr to be from running to OB to running to keeps and fighting resistance. |

Category: General Question: Dungeon Lockout Timers. Are there any plans to make lockout timers inheritable? Even with people staying in group, they still don't get the lockout timers if you kill a boss. Had 2nd wing end boss in LV to 15%, party member goes LD, we didn't notice right away and killed the boss. The LD party member then had different lockouts than us. That was the end of that LV run. I can't count the number of times had to 5 man, when a lot of guild players want to go, but our lockouts prevented them. Username: Praxi Category: General Question: PVE instance loot. Had a good Bile/Blood run tonight with 6 useable set pieces dropping out of a possible 13. All 6 pieces were useable. Normally the ratio isn't that high. It would be nice to have some type of sliding scale for the loot drops, or maybe convert uneeded loot to something else, officer tokens or what not. Username: Praxi Category: General Question: Server Populations. A lot of work has been done to balance servers, and it shows. On my current server (Skull Throne), the sides seem pretty disparate during odd hours. Seems relatively even with maybe a small to mid size advantage going to order during primetime US. Anytime after 11 PST there is a lot more order on than destruction. Any plans to look at server balances during specific hours? Username: Praxi Category: RVR Question: Careers/RVR. I know balance is a critical issue, but from my point of view, it doesn't look like its being taken seriously. It seems like a lot of the mechanics favor order. The biggest example I can think of is Iron Breaker vs Black Guard. Iron Breakers get grudge easily and constantly, and are rewarded for hording it. Black Guards have to perform abilities to gain it, and then have to spend it to reap any benefit. The fact that IB's gain grudge just by guarding, then have their damage increased again w/out doing anything, is very contrary to the BG. Similar issues between the Sorc and BW. With the resistance caps implemented, why does the BW still have a debuff for his own dmg type. I would take that anyday over word of pain. Username: Praxi Category: General Question: Programmable keyboards (G13, G15, N52TE, etc..) and macros. Are there any attempts being made to stop this? I can't count the number of times I've watched a BW run in and wipe out 1/2 to 3/4 of a warband by themselves. Or seen a WL leap in assisnate armored people in 3 seconds or less. I'm sure order sees this too from destruction classes, I just haven't seen it on my server. I don't macro's that are just saving key strokes, but macro's that are exploiting are really game breaking. |
