Games Day Baltimore - Land of the Dead Presentation

Here it comes folks, the start of all our video coverage!

Once again, we will have "full/all-in-one" video in a couple days, but we wanted to get this stuff out to you as soon as possible, so here we are.

Below is the Land of the Dead closed-door presentation by Jeff Skalski and Gabe Amatangelo. In addition, we've added a little supplemental section in the upper right for additional information and random tidbits about the Baltimore weekend.

Until now, only us, MMORPG.com, Ten Ton Hammer, and Massively have been privy to this presentation. Now, you the fans get the all-access pass we promised.

Enjoy!

Wow those are really some nice new stuff .

Just a comment tho, kinda wish you let those comments at the top right side of the vid last longer. Often had to pause and go back to see what was commented upon

I thought about that, and I'd rather you all just pause and rewind a touch, rather than move on and miss something. The commentary is meant as a sidebar and not as a distraction. But I still have a lot of video to do, so I will consider lengthening that as well.

Looks good.

I hope they spruce up the fights for keeps, forts and the rest of the PvE content to bring it up to the level this new stuff seems to be on.

Especially the keeps.

You'll see this in one of the interviews, but they mentioned that depending on how things turn out in Land of the Dead, they may integrate those features into the main campaign. I have a question along some of the same lines for the Q&A portion too.

Perhaps this is in vid 3 (haven't watched it yet) but he mentioned going to destroy the enemy airship.

Question that came into my mind when I heard that is: does that mean the enemy can continue coming in until you destroy the airship? After that first 30 mins has elapsed I mean.

Thanks for the nice coverage btw.

I have detailed things in my upcoming impressions and analysis post, but I do have to say that for those people who don't care so much for Land of the Dead due to existing systems being an issue, they should still check out the presentation. Not only are a couple of things mentioned that are changes for the live game (like wards), but the way they've structured Land of the Dead, it can and will affect the other elements of the game. Resource requirements and zone control of Land of the Dead alone make it something that will impact the game in existence right now.

Beautiful

Okay, if I got the whole "Vulture Lord" final boss fight correctly..... It is like a public quest boss where over 24 people can fight, even more than 100. If 100 people show up, it means that there is an extra stage to the boss fight just to spice things up? Also including the fact that the boss actually speaks with a voice to add more to the excitement. This also means that the boss fight is more action rpg than where it isn't about a single guy tanks the boss or a group of people tank the boss, but more about the group working together to dps down a boss....I am speechless..... This is going to be one of the most epic boss fights ever, even if it means that the 100 people will lag the heck out of the server...but none the less...the fact that such a boss exists makes it all worth while...

If they actually pull this off and it is playable it will be absolutely awesome for the game.

WAR's expansions have the most ridiculous amount of potential thanks to the IP.
