The Tome of Knowledge is probably the most unique, yet underrated, concept of today's MMOs. Like a loyal scribe, it painstakingly records a legacy of your character, meanwhile its tooltips fade before our circle-strafing and mouse-looking can get us there to open the page to find out we have just killed our 1000th foe.

The Tome brings a deeper meaning to a game dominated by PVP rankings and flag capturing. Even the most hardcore players of WAR are also hardcore fans of the universe they live in several hours per week. The Tome is there to congratulate us for the smallest accomplishment, to educate us about our world, to celebrate our follies and best of all - to provide us with something truly ours that is unlike any other.

In this spot, we aim to delve into the pages of the Tome to find the most quirky, obscure, or prestigious in hopes it will inspire you to take the time to get out there and explore!



The Dreamstealer

One of my favorite titles, this rare gem is definately worth starting with, as it will introduce you to a largely unpopular zone to the east of Thunder Mountain filled with beautiful starry skies, creepy spiders, and skeletal trees. Begin with the entire quest chain, and you may just come away with more than one unlock! Now for a little background:

In the idyllic meadows of Chrace, the first of the Dreamstealers fights a never ending battle against his arch enemy for the Midnight Crystal, an item that could enable Morathi to wipe out the Sage of Asuryan once and for all.

Tesmar Dreamstealer's noteriety has lead many to seek the path that would grant them the prestige and introduce them to a plot forged in the Sundering's darkest hour.

As the dark elf tells it, he and a companion travelled the northern reaches of Death Peak in search of a stolen cache of enchanted gold. They encountered a construct of immeasurable power lurking the rise overlooking the ancient stone gates past which their target was said to be in refuge.

The Winged Nightmare was a truly horrifying creation of the Vampire Counts, who use their mastery of necromantic magic to fuse together body parts from powerful creatures such as Griffons and Manticores, supplemented with deadly horns, spines, tusks and huge malformed claws.

If the galloping charge of a Nightmare is enough to scatter entire units of troops on the field of battle, the sight of a Vampire Lord entering the battle on the back of a Winged Nightmare can send entire armies fleeing in terror.

What could this mean for the future of Tesmar's war? Was the Asur Sage conspiring with Nehekhara?

Vanquishing the beast in quick measure, he fashioned the first Uthorin Deathmask from clipping its wings, and thus the great battle for control of the menhir and magical currents in Chrace began.

what's the benefit in getting these titles exactly? I've amassed a lot of these tome titles and unlocks only to find out that they directly increase load times meaning I rarely get into a scen with more than 14:30 on the clock...it's ridiculous. I've got all the undead tome tactics in prep for the new land only to find out benediction of the dead doesnt work...no cooldown timer reduction...

The benefit though in getting the titles is for those who like spending time searching for and unlocking them. A game within a game. And you get a cool big tome to attach to your belt as a trophy!

I agree re the dev and I've tried through several avenues to no avail.

Fun to get them, but at the sake of fun (massive load times)

It has been confirmed by Mythic that: More ToK Unlocks = Longer Loading Times

They've evidently found the issue and are working to fix it.

Although I dont have any of the "tier 3" tome tactics myself (except the greenskin one, which is bugged and cannot be used), and thus cannot verify or deny your claim, I find it rather unbelievable that you were able to get all the undead fragments. Care to enlighten us, for instance, as to how did you grind those 1k bone giants, liches and vampires (as, to my knowledge, with the current density of mobs of these types, it would get a very long time of extreme dedication to the sole task...or a team of chinese farmers for your account)?

I confused by the narrative. Does this tome unlock begin in High Elf Chrace, or can/should one go to Thunder Mountain?
