Finally beat the Monolith PQ!!!!

We finally beat the Monolith PQ!!!!!!!! The final boss fight took us 13 long minutes, but we finally got it.

Bang and Anatheos got blue weapons, and we masterlooted gold bags to those who needed them.

Attached are the screenshots of the party and the weapons.


Bugs
Those who got punted off respawned in Praag, did not roll on loot, and received a 3-day lockout.

No one got a Warlord crest just for completing the PQ. The only way to get a Warlord crest is from a bag.



Fight Summary

• Every 30 seconds, she does a knockback that hits for 5000 to 7000. Melee need to position themselves on a wall or run out of the knockback range, and they need to detaunt or challenge. Healers, including WP, and RDPS need to be on a point, i.e., one of the spokes, to avoid the knockback. If you get knocked off, you die.
• She has a cone AoE lightning that hits for 3000. It seems to be channeled. Put the groups on different points to prevent an entire wipe, and have healers and RDPS detaunt, which may not be necessary if tanks Hold the Line and use Challenge and Distracting Bellow.
• The 6th person in each group guards the two focus stones underneath the point of his or her respective group.
• The boss puts a DoT on one person that hits for A LOT each tic. That person needs to detaunt, and then type "DOT" in wb chat to let healers know to focus heal him or her.
• It is more important to survive than to dps.
• NO LESS THAN 5/5 SUPERIOR. NO EXCEPTIONS.

The most important advice for this fight is to play defensively. You need to just survive. The boss fight has a 16-minute timer, but it should take only 13 minutes or so to beat her.

Yes and no. The minibosses in the Palace are so easy that most people just do that. For the Monolith, I end up spending the first hour of the IC S2 forming the freaking raid, which happens to be the reason I stopped playing pve mmos

I've had the main part of this strategy for over a month back from Cindria's post on the official forums. The main difference this time was having the tanks Hold the Line and stuff. Sadaell's group thought of that last night.

why fight her when you can just make friends with her. You do not want to know the type of bad things an Ironbreaker and Hero level Magus can do when left alone for a Stage 2 takeover of the IC.

The group came close last night but just missed. Also had this bug out where we could not attack. Congrats on downing the boss.

Congratulations! I'm glad to hear that someone finally beat her. This is such a difficult fight: not because of any one thing but because it requires precision and immense memory for many little details and because it is buggy, like so many things. And you cannot bring under warded people. At all. I wish I could have been there to see you win this fight, y'all, and I am really pleased for you. I don't want to diminish the accomplishment at all. So far, it's been the hardest, most frustrating fight I've faced Order side.

We have gotten a reasonable amount of practice on this boss in our alliance lately simply because we have kept trying it to help people get their warlord gear. It's a very hard sell, though, and while people want the gear, after one or two wipes, they often start talking about other ways to get gear/crests. I have to admit I was working with the same strat as Elhor, but he has it down pat, great memory for all of the details, and very patient discussing it.

You can six man BW college and you can 12 man the first two sub bosses in the palace with unwarded players (I did it on a RR47 shaman in all lesser wards with 11 other similarly ranked and warded PUG players), so it's no problem getting full warlord Destruction side. I wouldn't be too upset with Order players finally completing a warlord PQ... And didn't Karl die a few times this weekend? You should have come back sooner when Destruction was running the city multiple times daily, then you would have been bored and quit again or started playing Order elsewhere like many current Order are doing with Destruction alts.

Another update: It looks like the PQ is still bugged so that the people on the focus stones do not get credit for the PQ. Considering that a bag is the only way to get even one crest, well...ff
