Guild beta update.

"Got an email, no guild beta isn't starting yet but they seem to be starting up the process (again) to send out keys for access to beta...when that will be, who knows.

Oh, and it says the guild leader would be getting 15 keys total (up from 6 for us under the the guild beta system run by Richard Cox) which he/she would be solely liable for. So i guess they standardized the amount of keys each guild would be getting (some had 30? i think under the old system, i wonder if that is at 15 now too)."

We received 14, but that's how many guild members we have.

I have reason to believe that up to 40 slots may or may not be available to certain guilds.

Really? Too bad I don't know any guilds that may or may not have that available.

I wonder if they are going to still honor the Guild Beta Phase 2 contest. I mean guilds that entered that contest put lots of work into their sites and such. Would suck if they got looked over.

It's true. Some guilds are getting 40 slots or more. I think most guilds got their number of slots increased by it least a little. Kind of like a consolation prize for the long wait I suppose. That, and the fact most guilds have likely grown immensely since a year ago when guild beta apps became available.

They basically doubled the number of slots for us
(12 originally now 25)

We have several guys in beta already so it was a very generous number.

That contest pretty much died when Richard left as Community head. It's a shame really. At least Mythic got some free publicity for their game.

Ya, you never know, they could suprise us with winner announcements. Just kinda sucks they had a contest, everyone entered,it was off to be judged, and silence. At least the courtesy of telling us its not going to be honored, would let the guilds that entered to find other means and no longer have this chance of winning as a fallback.
