Play.Com NOT Sending Codes Out Yet.

After following instructions given about calling them up if i had not gotten my codes today. I did so. The guy on the other side of the phone flat out told me they are NOT in ANYWAY sending the codes out yet.

His exact words :- "I don't know where you got that. If there website is saying so, they are lieing. We don't intend to send these codes untill closer the time."

When i said that some aparently already have them from play.com. He said the following.

"We haven't even gotten them from the manufactors yet so whoever has had theres by now must be lieing. Im telling you now, there not being sent out yet"

Does anyone have any ideas whats going on? Im stuck and have nowhere to go with this. I can't cancel my pre-order as no HMV near me has any instock. Can ANYONE give me a hand here.

This is not good news, the codes were supposed to be sent according to the war europe site.

Exactly my point. It seems the website has jumped the gun. The codes will NOT be sent out and this is from 3 different sources in Play.Com themself. The first is the simple guy on the phone. He asked his manager who said the same thing to me AND he even asked someone in pre-orders who said the same thing. They will NOT be sending the codes untill they recive them.

WAR-Euro messes up :/

I'm just hoping this is a case of crossed wires. We need a dev post to clarify or something. =/

Why would you take a day off to get a code and do nothing with it?

If devs knew about this, they would of posted when the first play.com post was made. I think its crossed wires.

Im doing other things too. Painting. Finish my cut ins and some other things. Its not a TOTAL shut out day. I just toke it off partly due to mail.

im from the netherlands. i orderd the pre order kit and i got the codes through mail 3 days later.


how come my country does get the codes send and some others dont while were all still in europe?

I just get the exact opposite response. I called in, and before I even finished naming the item the lady on the other end said "So have you not received your beta codes yet?". I told her I had not, she took my details and said it would be passed onto their "Codes and promotions" team, or something similar. They're to contact me within the next 24 hours with said codes.

EDIT: eindhoven, for some reason play.com is being a bit slow about it. They were wanting to get all their orders fully booked before they sent out codes. Now that's happened, they're supposed to be sending the codes out.

Can you tell me her name? If so, it might be better for me to try.

I don't know WHATS going on as i called TWICE and got told no. O_o

I *think* she said Samantha. To be honest, I wouldn't get too worried about it. When the people who actually know contact me, I'll try to get a better answer from them.

Aha!.

I called back, they have said that they have no idea whats going on themselfs. The rather nice lady i talked to talked to her manager, he recently sent a email up to Codes/Promotions. They are waiting for a responce which is better then the last guy i talked to. Aparently they have finaly cheaked the offical website and don't know WHY it suddenly says that.
