Possible Release Date?

Here are some links to pretty much confirm that, at the moment, WAR's release date is set to September 20-30.

I think we are looking at Open Beta somewhere between late August through early September and final release around late September. In any case, if there is going to be yet another delay, it should be stated within the next month or so. Lets all cross our virtual fingers for a final release date and the message that the game has gone gold within the next couple of months!

Well normally I ignore all non official release date speculation, but there's no denying that there's a lot of different sources all pointing at the exact same date.
Also I don't really think there will be another delay. The last delay was because the needed the extra time to polish the game. Unless they had run into some unexpected problems, I'd say that, that date is entirely plausible.

Kudos to you mate, you've done your research. Although we have to remember that we're speaking of a MMORPG here, and the release dates can always change, and the date of late september is just a speculation. But the fact that all of these websites say it's around the same area, and the customer support service must be able to START working in late August, I can say it's possible, very possible, that you may have pinpointed Mythic's plans.

Why do people belive that the stores know more than we do? Any store is allowed legally to post estimated releasedates, even though they have no information about it at all. Every store know that the release is Fall 2008, but not more than that.

Why do they all say september 23-30 one might ask... well, the answer is simple:
If i knew nothing about this game, not even anything about the Fall 2008 estimate (let say i'm a grandmother shopping for a present for my grandson who wants a preorder of the coolest game in the history of the earth), where would i buy the preorder package? Yes, in the store with the earliest releasedate.
And when is the earliest possible date within the Fall 2008 window? Right again, september 23.

About the CS-people, we've already been told that they need them for the closed/open beta as well. On top of that they need training (up to 3 months as discussed in another thread), wich will be great in Open beta, before there are actually paying costumer to help..

My guess remains on Open beta in last september to early october, and release around mid december.

IGN usually has very accurate release dates. That's the main reason I believe these are accurate. The stores are just a bonus. Also, it was always mentioned that it would be Q3 of 2008.

So if it is released passed September, then it will be delayed again, and they should stated it officially soon enough.

For the Customer Support service, they must be able to START in August, not train, but START, not start training, start WORKING, and the majority of jobs don't pay you for training. This might most likely be when Open Beta starts, and Open Beta most likely isn't going to last more than a month and a half. It's for this reason, and this reason alone, that I believe the September 20-23 date.

About you disproving September 20-23, why would a store have a different release date than the others? Seriously, how can you say that? That's like saying GTA 4 will be released in EBGames one day, then GameStop a week later. All stores release a game on the same date.

That is blatantly untrue. Mythic has never said Q3 but Fall. There is only one week of Fall in Q3, mostly Fall is in Q4.

No, it isn't delayed again when it releases after September because Mythic has made it pretty clear the release window is Fall 2008. They have also said they needed 3 to 6 months AFTER June. So no, they don't need to state anything when the game doesn't release in September because they already covered when they announced the last delay, which wasn't Q3 2008.

I completely disagree. That date is just based on it being the beginning of Fall, nothing more. Also, people keep forgetting that there is also a Guild Beta, which hasn't even started yet. Even in beta they need CS at a certain point to start testing all that is needed for live. And the right time to start this is when the NDA gets lifted, which isn't the same thing as Open Beta since Mythic has already confirmed that the NDA will be lifted some time before OB.

Retailers often give a date on preorders but unless one has officially been announced that date is just a guess to give a person something tangible when preordering. I'm more betting on an October release.

I can see a a release closer to October 20-30, but thats just guessing on my part. I don't think it would be December or November because that would be too close to the Lich King which I highly doubt they want to try and compete with; not that I don't think WAR can win or anything...

If the ship date is now in sept on the sites, then it is due to something they found out somewhere.. because when i preordered over a month ago... 2 different sites stated nov 23 as the ship date, would seem they wouldn't change that just because they felt like it sounded good

As long as they don't cut Open Beta short to release it earlier, October is probably a better estimate yeah. I'd rather wait an extra month and have extra testing done than get to the top level and realise that game is lacking somewhat.

These early dates I believe are for the CE.

That several retailers give the same date might be due to speculations from a distribution company that they have in common or just them copying each other. If you don't state a release date then you're not gonna give one to a select few retailers. That they in turn publish one might simply be due to order systems not being able to handle shopping without a given date, however arbitrary.

Sorry, I know you wish for it to be true, but your evidence means nothing at this point. It can still prove to be correct - like others have stated, around Sep/Oct is a smart time to release a game - but then it's coincidental.

EDIT: Personally, I really hope that there is an long open Beta. A hectic week or two of wider testing can still leave too many bugs in the game. A month or two - with some longer downtime for needed work - would be better imo (said without a clue about the final steps in releasing an MMO ).
