Which Video Card to Choose:

Hello!

I have chosen two video cards from http://www.warhammeralliance.com/for...light=peterpan and since it is an older thread, I want your opinions on:

1. Are they still viable for WAR, based on what little information we know?
2. Which one of the two should I pick?

The reason I chose the two is because the guide says that they should do fairly well, and they are priced reasonably. If you know of another reasonably priced video card that would do better than these two, feel free to include them in your post! My options is still WAY open.

From what I have seen on these boards, the 8800's seem to be the much better choice for that price range.

I run crysis all on high with it without much stuttering. snow... GRRR one day global warming will destroy you Mwuahahahah. *cough* then i just turned particle effects to medium and it ran perfectly

So it should run WAR like a charm.

I will probably wait to buy until it comes time for the open beta.

The ATI 4850 if you're looking for a budget card. There is nothing better than it in that category.

For everyone stairing in awe at those video cards, keep in mind that every video card needs a certain ammount of CPU power.... If you have an older system, the newer graphics boards might just perform way under par....

When upgrading i allways advice people to get a new video card like 1 or 2 years after they got their system, and upgrade the whole mainboard/CPu/RAM/videocard after 3 or 4 years...this way you get most out of your money.

as long as you have a CPU over 1.8ghz (i think thats it) the 8800gt will preform great.

Between those two I would go with the Radeon (cheaper)

A 3650 isn't going to last him in the long run. It will be able to run WAR, but not alot of newer intensive games.

want prime example OP read his guides to building a PC for war =-? alot of the components he originally posted were poo..PSU not enough power for the PC, components not actually being compatable etc.
