First impressions are obviously important. And why would they not want to release it before 50% of their player base (kids) go back to school?

I mean, with the WoW expansion approaching, you'de figure they would want to get on this and get some bodies in their game.

Or were we refering to the perspective that I've beta tested pretty much every MMO since Asheron's Call 1 and EQ1 and never seens a beta this laughably short and that you actually had to pay (or at least preorder) to get in.

Mythic stated that they wanted both the US beta and EU beta to start at the same time and look whos the only one not ready...

In my mind this would represent an unethical marketing ploy at best and testament that this game isnt close to finished and going to be pushed out with a patch right off the bat that may break more than it fixes and or a lack of polished content at any rate if this info holds true i will likely cancel all 3 of my preorders and wait 6 months for more viable info before considering purchase of this game at all..

Im sick of being burnt by this type of unethical garbage that usually translates to unexpectantly buying a bad unfinished product anything with EA attached has to be carefully considered imho...

I have the preorder like most of you and don't really see a problem with one week of open beta, I mean everything is erased anyway so the only thing people should be doing is testing out classes.

Then headstart begins and thats really the only thing I'm waiting on.

Open Beta isn't this epic thing just get over it. I would just rather play the game on the 18th than worry about prolonging open beta.

C'mon guys, for all you know its starting on the 7th because the open beta client download takes three weeks.

In all seriousness though, I'm pretty depressed about this, as I pre-ordered the CE and did not receive a Closed Beta invite.

Aye, last EA game I bought was Battlefield:Bad Company for the PS3. It's been out for 6 months now and it's still broken, even after a patch promising to fix things. Fortunately, EA is just providing the funding for this game, which they do have a lot of. Sports games FTW.

This has nothing to do with EA, they are BUSY interrupting my TV with MADDEN09 commercials every 10 minutes... I am so SICK of madden.

EA could care lessabout WAR, they just gave MYTHIC some money, in the hopes of a return on there investment.

The EA presentation at E3 was 1/3 SIMS 1/3 SPORE 1/3 Wii golf, and 0/0 about WAR, they didn't even mention it in there presentation.

They talked more about the STUPID iphone that MYTHIC, or WAR

The point is that they promised us entry into an open beta, and many people assume that open beta means about a month of testing. For many of us, we wanted to test the game before playing it for good because there are many other games coming out in this time. It's not illegal, because they didn't give us a date, but still very unethical to say the least.
