Guilds are Locked at 100 Memebers?

For real? It seems that every time I forgive and forget one ridiculous issue another crops up.

Today the "Heralds Of The Four" hit 100 members, and from that point on we were unable to allow fellow guild members into our troop.

Why would guilds get such a small population cap? Even if our guild were to put all Alts into a secondary guild we will still need a third guild to fill all our slots. This seems to go against the very fabric of the MMORPG.

This seems very counter intuitive.

Any input?

Agreed. Public quests, raids and RvR scenarios are always more fun, organized, and productive with guild members. Of course, not every member is going to be on when doing events such as these, so i doubt guilds will get together with more than 30 people, unless truly hardcore. Then again, it is still beta. Used to be 500 for WoW and for the most popular game in the world, full of hardcore players, that's very, very little.

Guilds can join alliances cant they? So 5 guilds (or so) make up an alliance, thats 500 people. The hardcore guilds that were in the 'guild beta' didnt seem to have an issue with it. . .

Believe Mythic said they are considering raising the cap to 500.

WoW is capped at 500 in that it bugs the hell out in a bad way the moment you have more than 500 in a guild. But then again, the people running that joint insist on keeping the ten year old concept of weapon skill in the game..

This is a bug and is not the intended guild cap for launch.

We realize at this time it's an inconvenience but one you won't have to put up with for too much longer.

Nice. Even though our guild was going to be smaller than 100, this is nice to hear.

well i hope it is going to be raised by a LOT. our guild has over 600 people for this game alone.

I come from an online gaming community for people 25 and older (www.theoldergamers.com << shameless plug ), which numbers over 10,000 active members spread across all sorts of regions and online games. While all of them won't be playing WAR, of course, it has generated a lot of interest, and every new game we begin to play tends to draw in many new recruits.

I'm currently in charge of one of our European WoW guilds, where the 500 character cap has been our constant enemy, and we've had to make a spillover guild and deal with guild communication addons and such.

So I guess this is just an appeal to, please, please, when the real limit is put in to make it something like 1000 or 1500 characters if at all technically possible. One of the things that has really appealed to me in WAR so far is its great guild management tools.

Worst case, I'm sure there's a way to solve it with guild alliances with alt guilds, but if there's any limit on number of allied guilds or such, then that will potentially handicap us in relation to other guilds on the server. I haven't gotten into that part of the game in beta, so not sure what limitations are or are not there.

So then, what is the intended cap? We really need to be able to do some pre-launch planning, and without this informtaion we cannot adequately come up with a strategy.

If it's 500, we would still need to split our guild even if we allowed Mains only. At 1,000 we would probably be able to handle all the mains in the core guild.

Are the alliances just for 2 guilds or for more? Any tests? The way it reads is as it is meant for just 2 guilds, not many...

I guess it depends what you want from a guild. I think the guild alliances are a way around this. Anyway will probally be fixed before or after launch, are thetre really going to be that many guilds with over 100 members initially?
