Why is there no game EXE? How am i supposed to play?
I just bought the game today, installed it as required. Aparently for some reason EA/Mythic thought it would be funny not to include a game exe file with either of my disks or in any of the installation folders.
Got 2 mates with the same problem. Does anybody know how to fix this or know where i can download a game exe, all i have is warpatch (700kb) which briefly flashes command prompt before closing. Our comps are all fine run Crysis on very high so the fault is not with the hardware. Thanks for your time, Chaokel |

i havnt installed using the disks but i believe it to be the same, there is a WAR.exe but it wont let you play directly from it, you have to start the patcher, login, then patch, then press the play button.

I have tried that, the patcher fails to launch for me. There is no other exe.... it;s very upsetting.
All the warpatch.exe does is flash a MSDOS command and close. Please help. |

I don't think I can help you because i downloaded my version of the game. The exe for me is located in my Warhammer folder under my downloads directory.

If the game is installed on vista try going into start/games and run it from there. Thats all i can realy think up right now, still trying to get my disk to load.

I have the same problem and so does my mate, im thinking maybe it's a problem with the disks?

You need to run warpatch.exe in order to get the latest war.exe. You must run the patcher in order to enter the game you must login through the patcher.
I've yet to hear of the issue you're describing when attempting to run the patcher, are you asked to login anything or only a command prompt appears and disappears without displaying any addition information? If you haven't yet since installing please restart your machine and try again. You may also want to try a full, clean reinstall (make sure the original folder is clear of any files. Thanks |

He's not going mad james I have exactly the same problem. I have the standard edition of the game and have exactly the same error. I've reinstalled three times fully clean, updated graphics and sound drivers and still all that happens when I launch warpatch is command prompt flashes up and then closes again instantly with no information at all.

When i run the Warpatch a small black window pops open for a split second, and then closes.
So i am guessing this is the command prompt you speak of. This has to be a problem with the disks right?

Heres the solution as posted a while ago on these forums.
1. Basically Mythic have given us a broken .exe on the disks so you need to go to http://files.filefront.com/warpatche.../fileinfo.html and download that 2. Replace the existing one mythic gave us with that one and make sure you cut the warpatch.bin file from your war directory so that warpatch.exe is the only file even close to being called that 3. Now just run as normal and it should now work at least it now patches anyway and doesnt just start/crash |

When I tried to start the gaame by pressing Play after the patching screen all i get is this message. ........Application failed to start because d3dx9_34dll was not found And say's Re-installing may Fix this but have done like 3 times and still get the same message .
Plz help |

How wide spread of a problem is this?
All game boxes? Only US boxes, EU? This is a very serious blemish on a rather flawless launch. /worried |
