So who walked into a Best Buy and grabbed a sold out CE right off the shelf?

So, after calling Best Buy on Tuesday to make sure they put the CE's behind the customer service desk AND going in to the store on Wednesday to tell all of customer service and the media department the same thing, I went in today and the had about 10 at customer service. I got mine and did some more shopping.

We bought something else as well so we were in the regular line and what do I see? 10 copies of the CE with about 30 of the SE sitting on a table display. So I grabbed another CE since Best Buy is retarded. I should have grabbed all 10 but I'm poor and didn't want to screw too many CE preorderers.

60,000 North American Pre-orders sold out for months, might be smart to put them behind the counter when they come in. At least for all their faults, Gamestop takes down the customers name and phone number and pus their game aside (usually).

Or maybe you're right and they oversold. Did you ask them about it?

Actually, I was told by my local BB last night that the pre-orders were not going to come in until next week!
I walked in this afternoon and there it was....of course I was upset about that but imagine my surprise when I saw the CE box...I had to do a double-take with that!

well i think gamestop or <name of retail here> mail the pre-order CE's for those who order online directly to them so that why there is the delay. they also shipped CE's to the store to sell directly, that explain the CE's you see in store. in my areas, all the gamestops and such have at least 1-2 copies of Ce available for grab-in right now...

I don't think that CE crap really matters at endgame anyways. Some of the most well known players in MMOs never had the CE of their game!

Well I thought the back story of me calling and even going into Best Buy to basically tell them how to do their job, and them subsequently not doing what they were supposed to (put them all behind the counter) that it would be clear I am complaining about Best Buy not knowing WTF they are supposed to do on a SOLD OUT PRE-ORDER item.

BB didn't do preorders for the CE only the SE.
CE's are sold as, 1st come 1st serve
now if you had a preorder for a SE and you could get a CE if they had it

Actually Best Buy did sell pre-orders for the CE. I picked mine up yesterday. I bought a neat little pre-order box labeled Collector's Edition back in July.

One thing people forget is that the CE pre-orders sold out. Not the CE itself. Best Buy, Amazon, and some other retailers didn't pre-sell all of the CE copies they ordered and were shipped. If you really wanted one you can buy one at Amazon right now for retail price and free shipping.

Did people honestly believe that Mythic would pre-sell 66000 CEs?
